Azerbaijan’s State Agency for Alternative and Renewable Energy Sources intends to implement 23 projects with a total cost of about 13 million manat (approx. €6,5 million) within the framework of the strategic roadmap for the development of public services (electric and thermal energy, water and gas supply) in 2018 – 2020. “The projects include the construction of wind, hydro and biofuel power stations with a total capacity of 4 200 megawatts, while wind power stations will have 3 500 megawatts, solar – 500 megawatts, biofuel – 200 megawatts. The cost of wind farms is anticipated at 10,20 million manat, solar projects – 1,48 million manats, biofuel – 1,16 million manat,” the agency informed. According to the regulator, the projects implemented will be able to jointly generate 11 937 kilowatt-hours of electricity per annum.
